WORKSHOP 8: THE CREATIVE WORKSHOP

The aim of this workshop is to display a unique collection of studies from a range of creative fields. In this workshop, we invite a plethora of inter-disciplinary backgrounds to come together to express and demonstrate their love of all things Gothic. This for writers, artists, film students, poets and other creative fields. Anyone who has ever dreamed of writing a scary story or creating a spooky film are welcome here!

 

Possible topics include, though are by no means limited to:

 

  • Vampire and Gothic tradition in Visual Arts (Fine Arts, Theatre, etc.
  • Reporting from contemporary Gothic productions.
  • Short stories featuring vampires or other supernatural creatures and gothic elements, readings not to exceed 15 minutes
  • Excerpts from novels featuring vampires or other supernatural creatures and gothic elements, readings not to exceed 15 minutes
  • Short films featuring vampires or other supernatural creatures and gothic elements, films not to exceed 15 minutes.
  • Poetry collections featuring vampires or other supernatural creatures and gothic elements, readings not to exceed 15 minutes
  • Gothic, Horror or fantasy film studies
  • Gothic, Horror or fantasy in art
  • The vampire in popular culture
  • Examinations and creative reports on vampire and gothic balls, night clubs, parties, etc.
  • Bonus - presenter with the most ‘creative’ vampire costume wins a prize. ;)
