Google Workspace Essentials

The Organizing Committee has tested different virtual conference platforms, and we have agreed that GOOGLE MEET is the most practical platform for our purposes. If you have time, please make yourself familiar with Google Meet. Try to set up a free meeting and connect with a friend or colleague, to make yourself familiar with the lay-out, buttons and functions! Here is a page with tutorials.
Google Meet can be accessed for free, e.g. from your Gmail account, but for the functions we need for this conference, with more than 100 participants and the option of recording the sessions, we have registered an account for Google Workspace Essentials (Business Standard Edition), that is managed by the Organizing Committee.
On coming Thursday, April 15, 2021, we are offering two sessions where participants can join a test meeting with us and see how they can connect and act as presenters: one meeting at 11:00 a.m. London time for Europe, Asia and Australia, and one at 5 p.m. London time, for the North- and South-American participants. Magda will send the links to these test meetings around. Before these meetings, take a look at the training screenshots explaining the buttons and functions.
While watching presentations or videos during the conference, PLEASE shut your own microphone off, so that we have less background noise in the conference!
Before the conference starts, please CHECK if your webcam works and what it shows! You can check it here: https://webcamtests.com/check
Also check your microphone at https://mictests.com/ and control how it sounds in playback!
You don't want to start checking your devices when the conference is already running!!
